New Camera & Muffin Update

Yesterday I posted my very yummy muffin recipe without pictures because my camera broke. Partly due to the fact that I allowed my toddler to use it to photograph her toys and other interesting items that you can see here on her blog Rock Steady, but mostly because it was old, had been dropped on the road...several times, and filled with sand. This accumulation of abuses has resulted in the button being stuck in video mode. Last night I went to my local evil Walmart and bought this nifty little thing, it's a little larger than my last one a canon elf but worth it. It comes with high def video, fish eye, and miniaturize that makes everything look like small little toys. I'm supper excited about trying out all my new settings.
Anyways, back to my original point about the muffins, here are the muffins with banana instead of pumpkin because we already ate all the pumpkin ones. Don't they look yummy, go bake a batch!

Product Review

Zinsser B-I-N Primer: Shellac Based
We are NOT getting paid in any way for this product review, this is simply my own experience using the product.
For an upcoming project, I'm redoing a piece of furniture made out of that really crappy laminate. (The kind you generally find at Walmart) After reading several articles on primer I decided that the shellac (alcohol) based was the one for me.

This primer is awesome...seriously, it is a little more expensive about $10/quart. This stuff really sticks to the plastic surface of laminate and my favorite thing about it, it sets in just 45 minutes. Meaning you can paint over the top of it in less than an hour! For an impatient person like myself this is amazing, when I start a project I just want to hurry up and get it done.
The only downfall to this primer are the fumes, since it is alcohol based you need to use it in a well ventilated area and possibly even wear a respirator. You cannot use this near any open flames such as a pilot light of a water heater because it is flammable.

Overall I really like this product and because of this I will no longer pass up laminated furniture at the thrift store.

Product Review

We are NOT getting paid for this review in any way, this is purely our own opinion and results.
You've probably seen the commercials about Frog Tape and wondered if it really does what it says, if it really works better than that old blue painters tape.
Frog Tape versus Scotch Painters Tape for delicate surfaces. Frog Tape costs about $2 more per roll for the 1.5" size and $5 more per roll for the big 2" size. Wow at that price it better be an amazing difference!
Sorry for the less than excellent pictures. As you can see I got a straight line using painters tape, little to no paint bleed. In my previous experience with painters tape I found that using delicate surfaces tape instead of multi-surface lead to a better result.
Now to Frog Tape, I still got a straight line, without much paint bleed. One thing I noticed that was a difference, the frog tape is more durable while removing it than painters tape. It tended to come off in a big long piece while the painters tape would often rip.

Verdict:
For me the price difference is just too much especially for the 2" tape. I got the same results with both Frog Tape and Painters Tape. In the future I will be buying whichever is cheaper and right now that is Painters Tape.
